The Dora Castle(s)

Haddi loves her Dora Castle and here she is showing off the full size version (mostly blocked by her body) and the travel size (on the piano bench). She's wearing her Limey The Queen (Lightening McQueen) shirt from her new favorite movie "Cars".

Cute Hair Day

Today we put some of Haddi's hair up in little pigtails and left the back down. She wanted "cute hair" for her movie date with Uncle Martin. He took her to see Aurther and the Invisibles - she didnt' care for it and they left as soon as she slurped down her icee. A perfect day in her book!

Haddi - the Easy Bake Champion!

So Haddi got an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas and a few Easy Bake Mixes -you too can cook a cupcake with a lightbulb in just over an hour! I finally understand why my mom would always say -let's not use the easy bake oven, let's just make a whole cake. It takes less time! However, she loves it, so whadda ya gonna do?!

New Matching Aprons!

Haddi is modeling her new apron that matches her mom's! She and mom got the custom made aprons (complete with removal patch for interchanging and washing) for Christmas from Grandma Nana and Auntie. They're so cute and Haddi uses hers for real cooking and cooking in the new Dora Talking Kitchen she got from Santa.

Say Cheese!

Haddi is quite the little photographer. She got this fisher price kid camera (a real digital camera) in November, and has been taking pictures ever since. (We did have to delete the ones of dad coming out of the shower, and the camera has since been banned from the bathrooms!) The papparazzi's got nothing on her!

Starlet in the making?

Well, everyone knows that in order to be a starlet, you must go incognito. The bigger the glasses, the better - just ask Paris Hilton. This 'outfit' was borrowed from Auntie at a recent dinner in Boulder. Yes, the shirt says "here comes trouble!"

Peas in a Pod!

Haddi and her Uncle Martin are "working" on their laptops on our couch. Very cute!

Cleaning up

Haddi is such a big girl that she goes to the bathroom all by herself - with no help. In fact - we're not even allowed in the bathroom at home when she needs to go. So, I came around the corner because it seemed to be taking a lot of time, and she was "washing" the mirror with her handsoap. I said "Haddi - what are you doing?" She said "Mom, I'm cleaning up, just like you!" Such a little smarty....

New Year's Eve in Downtown Denver!

This year we did something we've never done before for New Year's Eve. At Uncle Martin's suggestion, we went downtown with him and Rick's mom (Grandma Nana) and watched the fireworks over downtown. It was really fun. They did a "family fireworks show" at 9 pm, so that's the one we saw. We then walked to Starbucks (in the FREEZING cold) and had hot cocoa and snacks. It was really great - this pic is of Haddi watching the firworks up in the sky!

See you at the Movies!

So, Haddi's Uncle Martin has a website that most of you know about called movieeveryday.com. For 1 year, he set a goal to go to the movies in a theater every day and write a reveiw about the movie. The site has become quite popular and he's going to continue it. However, January 12, 2006 was the 1 year anniversary of his quest, so we had a little party to celebrate. Haddi is showing off her black teeth from the black frosting on the cake.

Snow pics

Not sure what's wrong with this picture on the left - however, you can see Rick's truck in the background with the snow as high as the tailgate. The one on the right is in front of our front door - Haddi shoveled it from inside the house with her sand bucket and sand shovel -she had a blast!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it SNOW!

Here are a few pics from the recent snow storm, now infamously known as the Christmas blizzard of 2006. Yes, that is a car in the background of the first picture. Haddi is standing in a snow drift taller than she is but she only weighs 30 lbs so she doesn't sink down in much! A few more pics to follow:

Haddi and Sesame Street.com

Haddi loves to play on the computer and her favorite web site (other than her own) is sesameworkshop.com. They have such fun games and such. Here she is playing Zoe's Animal Farm where she puts the animals into categories based on color, size, ear type, tail type, etc. She can do the mouse (a touch pad) and the clicking all by herself. She's soooo grown up!

No, Haddi, you can do better!

Ok, I've been quite remiss in my posting responsibility lately. I got through Haddi's birthday then fell off the face of the planet. Job change, holidays and running a pack& mail store during the month of December (combined with the annual winter head cold) have sidelined me for a while.

This pic is from the customer service area of Wal-Mart. We went there prior to the holiday to do some Santa shopping and ended up purchasing a toy storage bin that was missing 1/3 of the parts to put the thing together, a fact we discovered on Christmas Eve at about 2:30 am. So, after Christmas, back we went to what Rick refers to as the "evil blue empire". (For those of you who don't know, he has this theory that all big businesses who run little guys like us out of business have blue logos...Blockbuster, Kinkos, Wal-Mart...he's convinced it's some sort of subliminal brainwashing, but I digress...) ANYWAY, we had to go back to the evil blue empire to return the storage bin and exchange for another. While there, Haddi spotted a computer, in this case the hiring computer that all prospective associates use to complete job applications. She happily went about 'applying for a job', much to her father's horror. No, Haddi - you can do better, he says to her. She just looks up at him with those big green eyes and says "Ok daddy". Very cute!
