Holiday dress

We're on our way to holiday events. Pink Bear is coming with us....she is already dressed in her pjs - ready for bed.

First grade class room

First day of First Grade

This is Haddi's first day of first grade. Uncle and Dad and Mom all dropped her off and got to see her new room. She was soooooo excited!

Soccer Camp

Haddi attended soccer camp this fall. She was not a huge fan...she liked the shoes, and the shorts, but "mom...it's outside and my hair gets all tangled" What can we say...she wants to dance.

Father Daughter Dance

Haddi's school has a father daughter dance each year. In 2009, they went and had a fun time - so cute together because she is so small compared to him!

Haddi the Artist

Hey - the kid loves art! Here she is painting key chains. Fun!

Birthday Ring

For her birthday, I gave Haddi a ring that I was given by my grandmother when I was her age. I also showed her a picture of me wearing it when I was her age - She loves it and in this picture is of Haddi posing in the same pose I was in. She's a cutie!

"Supermodel" Birthday girls

For Haddi's 6th birthday party, 'the girls' - friends from her school - went to the bowling alley. The 10th frame involved fun sunglasses and a 'supermodel' walk down the aisle. They had lots of fun!

Cold Skaters!

Climbing Mount Mom

Ok - so the kid is a sound sleeper, but a migratory one. Pretty much every night she migrates from her bed to ours...sometime around 3:30 am, the spirit moves her and she arrives - still sleeping, to climb into bed. Usually I'm there, Rick is not to bed yet- he took this picture because it looks like she's climbing me! Nothing like sleeping with a 102 degree "backpack" (seriously the kid is hot blooded, and gets warmer while sleeping) - plus, she brings the bear!

Rockefeller Girls

Haddi and Auntie skating at Rockefeller Center in NYC - it was fun but CCCOOOOLLLLDDD!

Birthday Ice Cream

No birthday at the Mall of America would be complete without a giant ice cream sundae! (this shot taken shortly before a trip to the bathroom to throw up.....too much ice cream and excitement...hmm..... she still loved it!)

Meeting Uniqua from The Backyardigans

Here is Haddi meeting Uniqua from The Backyardigan's TV show. The Mall of America has many Nickelodeon TV characters wandering around. Those of you that know how Haddi feels about mascots (major terror) can imagine that to get this shot took much coaxing.

Haddi's once in a lifetime birthday trip

Ok - so Haddi has the best uncle in the world. For her birthday, he took her to the Mall of America in Minneapolis, MN for the day to go to the indoor amusement park. They spent the night in a hotel in Denver the night before and had so much fun. Here they are on some rides. Who looks more thrilled?

Haddi's regular birthday party

The family and friends party was after the pool party (the next day). Here's Haddi and grandma Nana "working" on those presents.

Haddi bed shopping with Mom & Dad

Haddi's giving us her opinion as we look for a new mattress.

Goofball

Haddi is a goofball!

Haddi's friend birthday party

Haddi had a little party with some of her friends from her Kindergarten class at the local pool. It was very fun and she requested a 'barbie cake', which her mom got from this great little bakery in town called the Estes Park Pie Shop & Bakery!

Trick or Treating at the Pie Shop

Here is Haddi skipping down the yellow brick road (or main street in Estes) trick or treating at the Pie Shop. Susan (a staff member) is manning the door for the halloween walk around so we can trick or treat with Haddi. (In Estes, because most houses are so spread out, everyone goes downtown and all the businesses hand out candy. They close off the street and it's lots of fun for all!) For the first time in years, Halloween was about 60-65 degrees. Most years it's snowing and freezing cold.

Halloween & Dorothy

Here are a few shots of Haddi in her halloween costume - Dorothy from the wizard of oz. In one, she's in her kindergarten room for the class party, and the other is at home complete with the basket and Toto (aka Chester the Webkinz). The costume was custom made for Haddi by grandma Alix.

Haddi and her class Mascot - Sunny

Here's Haddi taking the kindergarten class mascot "Sunny the Bobcat" to the Country Buffet in Longmont. She's showing Sunny the ropes. Sorry, first day of school pics are currently missing somewhere.....

It's been a long time

Ok - So I'm a total slacker, but instead of beating myself up (more) I will just try to start posting again. Our kid is soooo cool! We just thing she's the best thing as all parents do. Here are a few pics to get you a little caught up. This is actually Haddi LAST Christmas...she looks pretty much the same.

Ice Skating with Autie for the first time EVER!

On Auntie's birthday, all she wanted to do was to take Haddi ice skating at a real rink. It was really a lot of fun (we watched, Haddi skated with Auntie, two of Auntie's friends, and grandma). The rink was really cute - small outdoor rink in the middle of a shopping area and she just had the best time!

Helping decorate the tree???

Haddi is helping decorate the tree - at least until she decides to pretend she is a present (see pic 2). I had to tell her that she really is the very best present!

She's giant!

Haddi is finally taller than "giant" Santa! She used to be very scared of Santa but now she loves him! She is also holding a gift from her grandma nana who she has named "Frostina" - as in girl frosty the snowman.

Haddi Hugs Daddy

The title says it all! Rick's taking a well deserved break and Haddi is giving daddy some love!

Haddi and the Hotel

Haddi loves loves loves to stay in a hotel. We recently had to go up to Nebraska to retrieve some of our lawn equipment that we left there when we were working on a job earlier this year. We made a weekend of it and stayed overnight in a hotel (high luxury at the Comfort Inn in Scottsbluff Nebraska). Her favorite part without a doubt is the pool - which in this case had a broken heater. We swam for abou 12 seconds then went in the hot tub and went home! She loved it in spite of the problems!

Thanksgiving feast at school

Here is a picture of Haddi at school on the day of the Thanksgiving feast. The kids assisted with making bread then had that and vegetables for their feast. They really had a blast!

Playing at the Park.

Haddi and I went to the park near our house one morning for play time and she took a 'rest' on top of one of the climbing rocks.

Haddi the teacher.

Sometimes at the store Haddi gets bored and so she has 'school'. She selects some stuffed animals from the shelf - in this case mallard ducks, and conducts a class. The dialog is really very funny as it emulates that of her actual school. ("Everyone clap for Matthew", she says). She's a pretty creative little munchkin!

Littlest Ballerina!

My cell phone takes a crummy picture, but here is Haddi in dance class. She takes a combo class that is tap and ballet. This is the ballet portion and she is so darned cute in those ballet shoes!

Cinderella for Halloween - 3 pics

Haddi finally decided to be Cinderella for Halloween. This decision came after much discussion where Haddi decided she would be a kitty, a doggie, an elephant, a polar bear, a pumpkin, a firefighter, a princess (various). I wanted her to be Belle from Beauty and the Beast and I thought Rick could go with her and be the Beast! I loved this idea - the two of them did not so I was outvoted. I think her real favorite part was handing out the candy at our house after she was tired of walking from house to house to get candy for herself. Not sure what that says about the kid, but there you have it!

Mom, I'm so grown up!

Haddi is definatley fascinated with being grown up and being allowed to do things that she was too young for "when she was a kid". She just recently got permission from her dad for toenail painting. She chose the most shocking color of bright red/hot pink you've ever seen because it is a "very grown up color". Daddy painted her toes (to his and her delight) and she promptly put on her 'grown up shoes'. The thing that prompted me to take this picture was that these feet and legs look like teenage feet and legs to me. It's surreal that my 4 year old, without proper scale for reference, could really look so grown up! Freaks me out a little to be honest!

Miniature debutante!

One of Haddi's very favorite things to do is to get dressed up. She plays dress up in her play princess gowns, but she really loves to get dolled up to do things like go out to dinner or go to someone's house. Here, she's donned the dress up high heels, purse, hat and dress. Very funny!

Spooky Punch

Haddi, Auntie and Grandma Nana had loads of fun making spooky punch with dry ice and Haddi loved watching it bubble and smoke!
